ABOUT ME

Growing up in the suburbs of Washington D.C., I attended a French Immersion school as a child, and it was from that early age that I became fascinated about learning cultures different from my own.

That fascination carried with me into my young adult years, and in college I jumped at every opportunity I could to study abroad. I kept my French alive by twice studying at L’Alliance Française, first in Nice, and then again in Bordeaux. I won a scholarship through the Korea Foundation to attend a 10-day cultural exchange program hosted by Yonsei University in Seoul. In Korea, I fell in love with East Asia, and still starved for more culture, found another scholarship to study intensive Mandarin in Taiwan the following summer. Since graduating from college in 2012, I got my TEFL certification and taught English in Prague for a year, and then returned to Taiwan, where I spent four years studying Mandarin and working in a multi-national office for an international market consulting firm.

During these years abroad, I have helped countless others to pursue their own dreams of international work and study. I have helped friends from the US find opportunities to live abroad, and similarly helped my international friends to study and work in the United States. Helping others to travel is something I have always been passionate about and have decided to make a career out of.

I am now pursuing a Master of Arts in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA. I still have a love for travel and bridging culture gaps, and am eager to grow and improve the field of International Education.

"Travel enables us to enrich our lives with new experiences, to enjoy and to be educated, to learn respect for foreign cultures, to establish friendships, and above all to contribute to international cooperation and peace throughout the world.”
- Jules Verne
